The Masons of Quebec were given a rare opportunity to step back in time on the afternoon of April 16th, 2005 when the Charity Lodge re-opened for lodge business at the Karnak Temple as part of a play depicting a lodge operating in 1774.

The creation of the Wellington District Degree Team of Guelph Ontario, the play is a recreation of a typical lodge meeting of the 18th century (the events take place in 1774).

-The rituals of Freemasonry share much in common with ancient mystery schools, such as Sufism and Mithraism, which were prevalent in the Middle East in ancient times.

-The Grand Lodge of Israel comprises Lodges doing work in Hebrew, Arabic, English, Romanian, French, and other languages – making it one of the most cosmopolitan of all Grand Lodges. It is not uncommon for lodges in Israel to have both Arab and Jewish members and the craft has shown itself a potent tool for bringing people together.

On Friday the 8th of April 2005, an evening was held at Karnak, in honour of two great masons who were retiring from their respective positions in the Grand Chapter of the Royal Arch.

Over 80 masons, including the Grand Master John E. Leide, attended this soiree, put on by the Royal Arch.

The Lachute Shrine Club held their Annual Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, the 17th of April at the Lachute Lodge. A complete breakfast of pancakes, potatoes, sausage, beans and coffee was served up for the modest price of $6.00. The Lachute brethren were up early in the morning to prepare this meal and they did a wonderful job as usual.
