The Masonic Blue Slipper
Are you familiar with the Masonic blue slipper?

It is a small lapel pin in the shape of a blue slipper. Over the years it has been my habit to ask my wife and my daughters to wear one of these slippers on a coat or dress when traveling alone away from home.

What is the meaning of this blue slipper and why should female relatives of Masons wear one?

Histoire et signification du Premier Degré
à la Loge Jean T. Désaguliers no 138 (G.R.Q.), M.A.F. & A. 12 janvier 6006 (A.L.)

History and Meaning of the First Degree
Delivered to la Loge Jean T. Désaguliers no 138 (G.R.Q.), M.A.F. & A. January 12th, 6006 (A.L.)

The history of symbolic Masonry is to some extent one of principles rather than of forms, regulations and rigid custom. The body of Masonry has been kept intact, but the ethics, and other considerations of circumstance and condition, have modified, or extended, or altered customs to a great degree.

The Origins of Freemasonry
The following was delivered to John T. Gladston Lodge # 102 (G.R.Q.) A.F. & A.M. on May 10, 6004 (A.L.)

For centuries the brotherly message of the Freemasonry finds an echo in the heart of millions of men; those who aspire to an existence that is more enlightened by the spirit and to a personal quest open to the other person and to the world and free from the weight of systems; those also who experience the sentiment that their personal search should be less uncertain if it planted itself in a brotherly community, can find in the Order an ideal place to live and express their feelings.

The Master Chooses An Apprentice
Presented to Laurentide Lodge on November 9th, 2000.

A few months ago, (don't all sermons begin this way), a brother made me realize that even religious organizations are losing their members, that many churches are deserted, and, that certain churches have even hired real estate agents in order to find eventual buyers for their estate.
