Will the Grand Lodge will be conducting a one-day class?

The Grand Lodge of Quebec will not be performing any one day class or classes. Notwithstanding that, if one or more Lodges in the Grand Lodge of Quebec request permission from the Grand Master to undertake one or more one day classes; and if these Lodges submit proposals that the Grand Master perceives to be well organized and ascertains that the ritual work is likely to be exceptional, then I as Grand Master am likely to grant permission for these initiatives to move forward.

As Grand Master, I am personally not in favour of one day classes, primarily because I hold the view that Masonry is something that you have to work at to benefit from. On the other hand, I have consistantly been inspired in my Masonic career by being in the presence of exceptional ritualits, and if the proposals for one day classes leads me to conclude that the presentation of our ritual will be exceptional, then I will most likely view this as an opportunity to inspire new initiates (in the same way as I have been in the past) to our fraternity in the best possible way and conclude that these proposals will be in the general best interest of the Craft.

I am told that their will be a proposal for a one day class to take place at Harmony Hall on April 8, 2006 but I have yet to see the details of such a proposal. I am hoping that if everything is satisfactory, then all of the new initiates will also attend the Prince Hall/Grand Lodge of Quebec Table Lodge in the evening of the same day at the Montreal Memorial Temple.

Fraternally, GM
