Crowning of the Queen
On Saturday the 28th of January 2006 the divan of Karnak and their ladies were at the Delta Hotel for the crowning of the Queen for the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. This event is hosted by the United Irish Society and there were many distinguished quests in attendance including our city mayor Gerald Tremblay.

Le plus vénérable grand maître John A. Prosnick est enchanté d'annoncer que le plus vénérable frère Gary L. Atkinson, grand maître de la Grande loge du Canada dans la province d'Ontario, a accepté d'envoyer un représentant officiel et une délégation pour assister à la tablée de la Grande loge du Québec/Prince Hall qui aura lieu le 8 avril 2006 à la salle Harmonie située à Pierrefonds, Québec.
Historic Table Lodge to be Held
The M.W. Grand Master John A. Prosnick is pleased to announce that M. W. Bro. Gary L. Atkinson, Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Canada in the Province of Ontario has accepted to send an official representative and delegation to attend the Grand Lodge of Quebec / Prince Hall Table Lodge to take place at Harmony Hall in Pierrefonds, Quebec on Saturday April 8, 2006.
Mason on the Air
For the past several months our own R.W. Bro. Stephen Roberts has been hosting a talk show on CJAD 800 on you're am dial.
The show is called N.C.I.S. and airs on Saturdays from 4 to 5 p.m. The topics deal with private security and investigations and he also has police guests that explain to the listeners how the different squads operate within the police department.
Karnak Clown Unit Installation
Saturday, January 14th 2006, was the Karnak Clown Unit installation of their officers for year 2006. As asked to all units' presidents and secretaries by our Potentate, Illustrious Sir David Sweeney, at his January meeting of the Karnak Units' Presidents and Secretaries, I attended this event as Provost Corps President and Karnak Public Relations Noble.

Samedi le 14 janvier 2006, avait lieu l'installation des nouveaux officiers à la direction de l'unité des clowns du Karnak pour l'année 2006. Comme nous l'avait demandé notre Illustre Potentate, Sir David Sweeney, à son meeting de janvier des présidents et secrétaires d'unités, j'ai assisté à cet événement en tant que président du Corps des Provost et noble attitré aux relations publiques du Shrine.
Clown of the Year 2005
On January 14th, 2006, during the installation night of the Karnak Shriners Clown Unit, Noble Kamal Lutfi (President 2005) was presented with the "Clown of the Year 2005" Award for the excellence of his work and his innovative fundraising activities. Noble Lutfi would like to offer his "thanks to each and everyone of you for your support, it means a lot to me."

Donation to Wales Home
The Master and Members of Shefford Lodge No. 18 A.F. & A.M. (Waterloo) and the Masonic Foundation of Quebec have graciously donated a sum of $700 to the Wales Home in Richmond, Quebec. The cheque was presented to Kim Carson, Development Officer at the Wales Home by Wor. Bro. Earl E. Bracey. Wor. Bro. Bracey is an Emeritus Member of Shefford Lodge and was acting on behalf of the Lodge.

Karnak Shrine Installs New Divan
On January 7th 2006 the Ritual Cast in full costume installed the new potentate of Karnak Ill. Sir David Sweeney and the officers of his divan.
This is an open installation that families and friends may attend. The divan for 2006 is John McDonald, Ron Snow, Stephen Roberts, Gilbert Chartier, Richard Kearney, Leo Sculnik, William Pitts, and J.B. Djigounian. The potentate’s guest at the installation and the dinner afterwards was our own Grand Master M.W. Bro. John Prosnick.

Masons Give Sick Kids Christmas Hope

It had all the markings of the kind of help that has become synonymous with the Shriner's name. Last week in Knowlton, a group of benevolent gentlemen gathered to reach out and give a couple of sick kids a helping hand.

Tomb of the Unknown Soldier
In 2003 Hurricane Isabelle hit Washington DC, virtually shutting down the American capital, including the US Senate and House of Representatives. The military members assigned the duty of guarding the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier were given permission to suspend their assignment. They respectfully declined the offer. Soaked to the skin, marching in the pelting rain of a tropical storm, they said that guarding the Tomb was not just an assignment, it was the highest honor that can be afforded to a serviceperson.
